Hi Everyone,
I hope as Jasmine's Dog Mommy it is okay for me to comment too. My sweet little girl has had a pretty rough two months. She spent 4 days in the doggy hospital but she is doing great now. She had the beginning of kidney failure and high blood pressure. Thanks to great vets,she is on Norvasc,enalapril,aspirin,Purina NF presciption diet and many other vitamins and supplements. Just had another BP reading and kidney enzymes tested and it's getting better! They told me it wouldn't reverse,but it did.
So never ever give up until you're sure it's the end. She's back to her old lovable self again. I love her so much!

Jasmine sure does appreciate your votes! The best thing of all is Jasmine's health just keeps getting better. She is getting Adequan injections and tramadol instead of a total hip replacement and she is loving her walks. Her kidney enzymes are doing good and blood pressure even better. I never knew that dogs could get high blood pressure and I've had dogs my whole life. Thank goodness we went to Santa Barbara to the Big Dog Parade. When we were in Santa Barbara,we took her to the vet and they discovered all of this. My vet in Nevada never took her blood pressure and I didn't know better. I guess the beginning of kidney failure is connected to high blood pressure. I just keep learning. But I'm so happy to report that she's doing great and that I now work for a wonderful vet in Spring Creek,Nevada. Dr.Kathryn Moriarty is the one that saved my girl. So hopefully some of you can learn from this and get your dogs blood pressure checked. Jasmine would love to give you all a big snuggly hug!

Hi Jennie from dog training school....can you believe Jasmine made it this far? Oliver and Daisy dogs are watching from heaven. Jennie from Aspen Vet...you are an incredibly special person. Hurkulez is 10 months old, he is the first pug we have owned and for a little dog he sure rules the house! Glad to hear Jasmine is doing better, Hurkulez loves big dogs I know you said you go to Santa Barbara which is about 1 1/2 hours from us so let me know the next time you are in the area!
oh my gosh! this made me just melt! just seeing her all dressed up, and as a hippie! AWWWWHHHHH!!!!!! She is just about one of the most adorable dogs i have seen on here! you have my vote! i really, really hope you win =)

Thank you Briee and Selena for the votes and the comments. Jasmine is such a bright spot in my life. I was afraid to ask the vet I work for how long Jasmine will be around. She's doing so good now and she just got shaved except for her head and tail......she looks like a puppy again! She was matted due to so many different medical tests and getting wet and not brushing right away. I was a little nervous for her,but she loves it! You should see her wiggle on the grass. I feel so fortunate to work for such a loving,caring,veterinarian,vet tech,etc. They saved my girls life. This was before I even started working there. She is my comeback girl. This morning my 10 year golden had a 103.1 temp. But she's okay. Just had to worry me because Jasmine is getting the extra attention. I would like to tell the DiPalma's in Lamoille,Nevada,that I am so very sorry you lost your sweet dog today. That rotten cancer takes too many of our special angels. She is at peace now. That lump in the throat feeling though is something only time can help. I wish they lived longer so I wouldn't have to go through the pain of losing them. But each time,it is still worth it because they added so much love to my life. Truthful,loving and non-judgemental. Give all those special to you (even humans) a hug. Life is just too short.

Hi Elko! I'd like to thank Meadow Stahl and all her volunteers for finding home for the dogs and cats in this town that need homes. Animal House does a good job. I met two volunteers at breakfast this morning.Also thanks to Roger Leeper,Stacie Sawyer,Trevor Smith,Rhonda Zuraff,Ali,Marianne,and Jared for helping to FINALLY getting the word out about Jasmine's contest.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. This has been sooo fun! The best part of all is that Jasmine is healthy again. It was was touch and go back in June. Ask you vet to take you dogs blood pressure. I never knew about that. I have always given her the best food,vitamins,etc. but never knew that could happen. But if you catch it early....then their kidneys don't fail and they're back to their silly puppy ways..even at 11 1/2 years old! It's good to hear that Pugsley is okay too! I'm a worried wreak. I've chewed my nails off, my house is spot less, nothing more to clean. lol I've eaten 4 cupcakes. I'm running out of things to do between now and the results. Piper is kinda nervous to. She can't stop running around screaming "I want to go to L.A." haha We would very much like to meet y'all too. But I'm going to set up a email account samijo2004@hotmail.com so I can keep in touch with everyone and there pups and make sure everyone is all and well.
Today we got an email saying we weren't the finalist. Oh well, maygen was alittle bummed out. Maybe next year Jasmine and Maygen will meet each other.
